Hello,

 

My Name is Jorge Villacis owner of Vintage Restoration Inc., and this is the story of a place that I became a part of in 1998.

 

In New York City, Vintage Restoration Inc. was founded by Salvatore and Marilyn Borrometi in 1969. 

 

With their knowledge and experience in Fine Art Furniture Restoration, Mr. and Mrs. Borrometi helped to preserve and conserve pieces for Art Collectors and Galleries in New York City for many years.

After all those years in the business, Mr. Borrometi gave me the opportunity to join Vintage Restoration as a part-time worker in 1998. Thanks to that opportunity and his good eye, to see a young person looking for a chance to learn the trade. He took the time to teach me the beautiful art of restoration, which after years of working, helped me to become the owner of Vintage Restoration Inc. after his retirement.

Since I acquired the business, and with all the changes in the industry with new furniture evolving and the birth of new interior designers, we have tried to preserve traditions that are almost lost in time.

We hope that one day, you will allow us to help you transform your furniture into a collection that you will appreciate every time you see it!

One tradition that we can proudly say is still being appreciated by our clients is our hand-finishing application, which is known by many as French Polishing.

A special appreciation is dedicated to our clients for allowing Vintage Restoration Inc. to work on their furniture and collections.
